Dear Homeschooling families of the Brazos Valley and Beyond,
Covid and hail damage has claimed another great event.
Because of the current city and county health regulations, date change, and roof repairs needed at the facility, the CHC board has opted to make the hard decision to cancel this year’s book fair. We will be refunding all seller payments today before 5pm.

1 - THE BASICS:

10am-2pm - Free entry to the entire community.
All day: Ask Me Mentor Moms* - NAME TAGS
Ask Me Teens* - NAME TAGS for students ready to help, baby sit, haul, and more (Read more about that later)
*What is ASK ME? Well, it’s any parent or teen who WANTS to help. If you have five years or more of consecutive ‘official’ homeschooling (We love you, but birth to five doesn’t ‘count’ - though it SHOULD!) you qualify to wear an ASK ME lanyard. This will give newbie moms a place to ask questions! ASK ME Teens - they are the ones who will reply to this email and get signed up for the teen opportunities below. Moms, just grab a tag when you arrive. :-)
All books and curricula will be organized by subject, thus, each seller does NOT have to man your own table.
In order to be a seller, find the google doc here, and enter your information. Then, if you’re volunteering, click through to the Sign up Genius site, to choose your volunteer slots.
2 - *SELLER INFORMATION:*
Sellers can bring as much or as little as you would like to sell. Your books must be tagged with your seller number and price labeled with a sticker or masking tape, and must be easily read.
To get a seller number, you have four choices:
- Pay $10 or pick two:
- Simply pay $5, and sign up for one volunteer hour;
- OR two volunteer hours, and sell for free;
- OR one volunteer hour and bring at least one labeled 6ft table or larger, by 9am on set up day.
- OR bring two labeled 6ft tables by 9am on Set up day.
You will notate what your choices are on the Google Doc (linked here again) and then, if needed, the Sign Up geniuses link for volunteer hours.
3 - WHAT ARE THE TABLES TO BE LABELED? (let us know if we’ve missed something)!
- Foreign Language
- Music books
- Art books
Free Table (Still books only please - no clothing or ‘garage sale type stuff’)
Concrete - eClubbers will be having their sale! Bring your change and support our young business owners. This will include a coffee bar, snacks, drinks, yummies, and other fun items! Bring change and ones, they are very reasonably priced!
4 - BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES: THERE are THREE of these!
Deadline for any and all businesses is July 8.
FREE: If you are a homeschooling business and would like to have information flyers at the Resource Table, bring your flyers on the day of the sale, or get a stack to a board member or our manager before the sale. We’ll lay them out for you and toss any extras at the end, if you don’t pick them up.
SPACE: (low cost) If you’d like your own space to man, reply to this email, and we’ll let you know how to do that!
Spaces are 10 foot in length and are $25 per space. There are only 8 spaces available for groups/businesses so act quickly. Preference will be given to educational groups/businesses.
Non-profit organizations wanting to use a space (not selling anything) have a $10 charge. The spaces must be manned for the entire sale, and groups/businesses must bring their own table and table cloth. (YES, a table cloth is required. THANKS!)
SPONSOR: (low cost) We have a REALLY cool opportunity this year! The resource sign is professionally made and have space for your logo! Print your logo on an 8x10 piece of paper, and we’ll add it to the board, for just $10. We’ll link your website on the CHC pages as well!
5 - GROUPS/RESOURCES
The resource table is your friend! We will have a large sign labeling the resource table(s) where you can place flyers, business cards, coupons, sign up sheets, etc! This is where the CHC Teachers will have lists and descriptions, and EVERY co-op, group, association, non-profit, for profit EVERYONE that helps homeschooling or is some way tied to homeschooling is encouraged to place their info. We’ll have one table for businesses (from roofing to pet sitting) and one table for educational groups and opportunities of all sorts.
6 - TEEN OPPORTUNITIES:

EARN $2/kid an hour for child care (students set up with parents - a private transaction)
- trash take out
- book hauling and help
- monitoring and straightening the free table
- hang out with like minded helpful teens all day!
- give advice about homeschooling (parents are interested in your input!) *ASK ME Teen
